Classical Ballet Royal Academy of Dance Program

RAD Ballet DancerAbout Ballet Classes

Ballet is an essential part of any dancer’s training and brings additional grace, strength, technique and poise to a dancer’s presentation. This class involves warm up, stretching, barre and center work. Classes follow the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Syllabus, and students will be given the option to undergo mock examinations in their respective grades.

Examinations (and mock exams) will incur extra costs and are entirely optional, though we highly recommend them for students who wish to excel in dance or simply achieve recognition for their hard work. Please note that students will not necessarily move up a grade each year – to ensure thorough syllabus knowledge and execution, as well as training and proper technique, students usually take the same grade class for approx 2-3 years.

RAD is one of the world’s most influential dance education and training programs. For those dancers serious about pursuing Ballet, please visit our Pointe Class page to find out more about which classes incorporate Pointe work.

What To Wear

It is compulsory that all dancers wear either pink or black leotard, with ballet tights and ballet shoes. Hair must be tied back neatly into a bun.
