About Teina Pirake

Teina grew up dancing at local academies John Cleary Dance and the Graduate College of Dance here in Perth, studying many styles but eventually choosing to specialise in ballet and lyrical/contemporary. After finishing high school, Teina was accepted in to the New Zealand School of Dance as a Contemporary major, moving to Wellington to study full-time. Whilst in New Zealand, Teina not only studied dance full time but had the opportunities to perform in major productions such as the World of Wearable Art (WOW). Since being back in Perth, Teina has taught at a number of colleges, including the Graduate College of Dance and a handful of high schools. Teina is passionate about dance; she focuses not only on high-quality dance teaching, but on nurturing a love and enjoyment of dancing in all of her students.
