Singing & Music
About Singing and Music
Singing is an essential attribute for any all-round performer and in this class you will learn breathing, projection, phrasing, diction, pitch, harmony work, microphone technique; all essential to becoming an accomplished and confident entertainer.
Depending on your age, teachers will go through a series of exercises to warm up, build, develop and maintain your vocal capabilities, no matter what your level. Senior students will be given the opportunity to sing as part of a group or as a soloist (entirely optional). This course also covers music theory including aural training inspired by the well-respected Kodaly musical education philosophy. This includes solfa, hand signs, intervals, scales, canons, music reading, rhythm, melodic and rhythmic dictation, and basic elements of conducting, improvisation, composition, and more.
Singing lessons are available privately, as well as our Advanced Singing Troupe for those looking to take their vocal technique to the next level.
