An Exciting Start To 2012
Blog: 2012 kicks off at WAPS
Welcome parents, students, staff and visitors to 2012 at the WA Performance School! It has been a busy and exciting start to the year here at WAPS, with new staff, revamped courses and some exciting plans for the upcoming year.
You may have noticed that some of our class names have changed; Moovers and Shakers is now Little Groovers, and Ballet Babes is now Tiny Ballerinas! These are the same fun and action-packed lessons perfect for little dancers and groovers from ages two and up.
You may also have noticed a few other changes around our studio lately, including our brand new dance floor and some exciting new classes! We have a range of exciting new adult dance classes, with plenty of options for beginners as well as more experienced performers. Our other new course is our fantastic Glee Club, with both our junior and senior classes working hard to learn their energetic dance routines and catchy songs, as well as learning new theatrical skills.
Glee Club is taught by Kelsey Guard, a real life Gleek from the USA! Kelsey is a trained and professional teacher and performer, as well as a choreographer for real life show choirs just like on the Glee TV show. Kelsey’s classes are fun and energetic, training students for what is sure to be a knock-out end of year performance!
Our other new staff member this year is assistant manager and singing and drama teacher, Sylvia Sippl. You may have already spotted Sylvia behind the desk on some afternoons, or teaching singing and drama to students of a range of ages! Sylvia is an experienced and passionate performer and musician, keen to give her students a solid musical and theatrical foundation for them to build on as they develop into mature and talented performers.
2012 is shaping up to be an exciting new year filled with great opportunities for students of all ages here at WAPS. We are all really excited to watch our students grow and throughout this year, and see what our talented teachers come up with for our exciting end of year performance.
